Nicky S. Kluka

SPRINGFIELD, LA- Nicky S. Kluka, formerly of Dover, PA passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at his residence in Springfield at the age of 90. He was the husband of the late Betty Jane (Darr) Kluka.

Mr. Kluka was born in Hammond, (Klukaville) LA. On September 24, 1935, the son of the late Frank M. and Philemena (Shum) Kluka. He was raised on a large farm where you would get up early, feed the stock and do chores before school. His graduation was on Friday, March 22, 1957, from Springfield High School in Louisiana. Graduation was early in the year due to this area having large strawberry farms. Schools would get out in early March and return in June. He served as a PFC in the US Army. At the age of 24, he was qualified as an expert in firing the machine gun while assigned to the 24th Division in Germany. He was a cannoneer in Mortar Battery of the division’s 2nd Infantry and entered the Army in July 1958 and receive basic combat training at Fort Riley Kansas. He was a lifetime member of both the Shiloh American Legion and West York VFW. He retired from Consolidated Freight in York PA.

He leaves two stepchildren behind Susan Bixler, Johnny Kluka and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Philemena Kluka, wife Betty Jane (Darr) Kluka, three stepchildren Steve Henry Kluka, Tommy Kluka, and Robert Kluka as well as six sibling’s Helen, Steve, Frank, Mary, Bobby and Rita Mae.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Suburban Memorial Gardens in Dover. Full military honors will be provided by York County Veteran’s Honor Guard.
