Nancy E. Sharp, 70, of York, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 22 with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of Robert O. Sharp, who devotedly supported her throughout her illness.
True to her lifelong preference for staying out of the spotlight, Nancy requested that no formal services be held. Her family will celebrate her life privately at a later date. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is honored to serve the family.
Born in York, Pennsylvania, on December 1, 1955, Nancy was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy Ebbert. She was a 1973 graduate of York Suburban High School. She found success in numerous leadership roles at Turkey Hill, Hess, Papers Plus, and Lowe’s. She was immensely talented at creating paper crafts, she enjoyed a good crime story, and she never let a Sudoku puzzle stump her. Her most cherished role was supporting her family, and even in her final days, she was found cheering on her grandchildren from the sidelines and in the audience. Nancy especially treasured time spent with Bob on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, where they enjoyed countless afternoons on their boat, sunsets together at Harborside, and many precious memories with family and friends.
Nancy will be remembered for her strength, patience, and love for her family. She was endlessly proud of her children and grandchildren, deeply valued the love and partnership she shared with Bob, and faced life’s challenges with courage, grace, and a sense of humor.
In addition to her husband, Robert O. Sharp, she is survived by her son, Justin R. Gillman, and his wife, Jessie, and grandchildren Annaleah (Shank), Sophie, and Brett of Dover; her stepdaughter Jacelyn M. Loughman and husband, Brian, and grandchildren Eoin and Giana of York; and her stepdaughter Nicole S. Sharp of Deerfield Beach, FL. She also leaves her two beloved Pomeranian pups, Gracie Bean and Franny.
A lifelong animal lover, Nancy had a special place in her heart for pets and animals in need. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the York County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406.
