YORK - Nancy A. (Miller) Nitchman, 92, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2026 at Autumn House East. She was the loving wife of the late Raymond Nitchman to whom she was married for 49 years.
Born November 9, 1933 in York, Nancy was a daughter of the late William H. and Lucy M. (Sharp) Miller. After attending York High School, Nancy went on to work for the York County Court House and later retired from United Defense as a secretary. Nancy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church on Brandywine Road in York for many years. In her free time, Nancy enjoyed camping in Florida, collecting dolls, and she had a passion for animals, especially horses and dogs. She famously remembers how much "trouble" she got in when she rode her horse down Market Street in York, and her days as a catcher in a ladies softball league.
Nancy is survived by a daughter, Connie Ross and her husband Daniel; a grandson, Christopher Ross and his wife Catherine; and two great granddaughters, Elizabeth Ross, and Mary Ross; and a large extended step family including, step children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, who stayed in touch, and Nancy carried pictures of in her wallet.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is honored to serve the family.
