Lancaster - On January 22, 2026, Nancy Lee (Lewis) Edie, 72, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by the love of her family. Nancy was born on April 17, 1953, in Bel Air Maryland to Edward and Louella Lewis. She grew up in Fallston Maryland, where life on a small farm was the daily life, centered on family, work ethic, and family gatherings. Throughout her life, she welcomed friends and family. She had a mindset of volunteering and serving her community.

Nancy graduated from Perry Hall Senior High School in 1969. In September 23, 1972, she married Harry Edie. They were married 52 years. They made Chanceford Township, York County, their home for over 30 years. There she began her community service legal career in Brogue, as a secretary at the local District Magistrate Court. She volunteered for years at the Brogue Lioness and Ambulance club, holding various leadership positions and receiving numerous service awards. While being a district magistrate secretary, she attended, graduated and became certified by the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts District Magistrate Program. Nancy ran for public office and was elected by her peers for multiple six-year terms. She held the district magistrate position and servicing the community for over 20 years in southern York County. She retired and received Senior District Court Magistrate Status and for a few years traveled to various districts to fill in when there was a need. Everyone always commented on how in office she was firm but always fair and had a sense to see the best in people.

After retirement, Nancy and Harry moved to the mountains in Loganton PA. Most recently in 2024, they returned to Lancaster County to be closer to their family and friends. Throughout her life she loved playing different board games and all kinds of different card games with friends and family.

Above all else, Nancy was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She cheered passionately at her son’s sporting events and loved her only grandson with all her heart.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Harry Edie, her son Christopher Edie of Lancaster, and grandson Connor Edie, also by brothers Edward Lewis III and Michael Lewis.
