Mary M. (Barbour) Runkle

RED LION – Mary M. (Barbour) Runkle, 92, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at Dallastown Nursing Center. She was the loving wife of the late Eugene W. Runkle.

Born October 14, 1933 in York, Mary was a daughter of the late John W. and Olive C. (Snyder) Barbour. After high school, Mary attended a business school. Mary retired as a secretary from DE Horn and Company. In her free time, Mary was part of the Auxiliary for the New Bridgeville Fire Company, and was an avid reader.

Mary is survived by a son, David E. Runkle and his wife Lori; a daughter, Kathy D. Smoot and her husband Jay; two grandsons, Ed Hutchinson and his wife Ruthie, and Jason Runkle and his wife Kate; a great granddaughter, Lena; and several extended family members.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Red Lion Cemetery. Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is honored to serve the family.
