A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00AM, Monday, May 19, 2025 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will be her pastor, the Rev. Robert Burkhart. A visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00AM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

Born September 05, 1945 in Everett, Bedford County, she was the daughter of the late John H. and B. Margaret (Adams) Kemberling.

She began her career in health care as an LPN working at Wellspan – York Hospital for 10 years. After choosing to recess her employment to care for her children, she returned to York Hospital as a patient care representative for 23 years until her retirement.

Mrs. Gundlach was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church. She was also active in multiple communities through her involvement in the PTA when her children were young and as a life member of both the Keystone VHF Amateur Radio Club and Grantley Fire Company EMS, where she was an EMT. She was passionate about music and especially loved playing the piano. Traveling with her husband was another love of hers. Together, they journeyed, cruised and camped extensively. She cherished most being a wife, mother and grandmother. She had a generous soul, which also made her a wonderful “neighborhood mom”.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Gundlach is also survived by one daughter, Diane M. Burger and her husband, Thomas of Midland, NJ; one son, David J. Gundlach and his wife, Shirly Pezo of Montgomery Village, MD; three grandchildren, Nicole Kwilecki and her husband, Evan, Shannon Burger and Jonathan Gundlach; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Kunz and her brother, Mearl Kemberling.
