YORK- Marlasee Elizabeth (Metzger) Douts, 98, of York Township, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. She was the wife of the late Charles H. Douts.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Aldersgate Church, 397 Tyler Run Rd., in York, with a visitation and gathering to follow in the church fellowship hall. The Reverend Dr. Robert Kaylor will be officiating at the service. A graveside interment will be held at Salem Union Cemetery in Jacobus following the gathering.
Mrs. Douts was born in Lancaster on April 29, 1927, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Eva Mae (Moore) Metzger.
She was a founding member of Aldersgate Church in York where she was a member of the Women’s Group. She was also involved with many aspects at the church including the Stephen’s Ministry, Home Communion, Merry Makers, and was especially involved in heading up the kitchen for many events. She enjoyed working around her house as well as gardening and sewing and most of all spending time with her family and friends around the pool. In her later years, despite her failing eyesight she enjoyed putting together 1000-piece puzzles.
Mrs. Douts leaves a daughter, Diane Elizabeth Douts of Dallastown; a son, Keith E. Douts (Elaine) of Frisco, NC; four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and two siblings.
Memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate Church, 397 Tyler Run Rd., York, PA 17403.
