York—Marion (Krauss) McNeill-Sowers, 87, died Friday, September 9, 2011 at Manor Care Health Services-South. She was the wife of Martin H. Sowers Sr., to whom she was married for 20 years and the late William M. McNeill, Sr. A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30 PM, Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with her pastor, the Rev. Robert Kitchen officiating. A viewing will be held from 12:30-1:30 PM, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born December 26, 1923 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Cora Krauss. A loving and dedicated homemaker to her family, she enjoyed knitting, playing cards, traveling, was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church-Freysville and the Eastern Star. In addition to her husband, Mrs. McNeill-Sowers is also survived by, three sons, William M. Jr., W. James and Thomas E. McNeill, two step-sons, Martin H. Sowers Jr., and Mark A. Sowers, one step daughter, Hope I. Criswell, 4 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 2 great- grandchildren, 11 step great-grandchildren, one sister, Carolyn Sheehan and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 two brothers and 1 sister. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church-Freysville, 2650 Freysville Rd., Red Lion, Pa 17356.
