Mariano Garcia Matesanz

LOCK HAVEN - Mariano Garcia Matesanz, 85, of State College and a former area resident passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013 at The Fairways in State College. He was born November 23, 1927 in Segovia, Spain the son of the late Ynoceuto and Autioea (Matesanz) Garcia. He was married 44 years to the former Mary H. Shilling. Mariano taught Spanish in New York City, Bald Eagle Area and West Branch for several years he also taught Spanish for American Express. Surviving are his wife, one brother Felipe (Carmen) Garcia of Spain and a brother-in-law George Shilling of Lock Haven also several nieces and nephews. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall has charge of arrangements.
