Marian L. (Rothermel) Tice

WEST YORK – Marian L. (Rothermel) Tice, 94, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Manor Care South. She was the wife of the late Paul B. Tice, Jr. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Faith United Church of Christ, 509 Pacific Ave., York with her pastor, The Rev. Dr. Ron Oelrich officiating. A viewing will be held from 3-4:00 PM Sunday at the Church. Private burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born September 1, 1920 in Lebanon, a daughter of the late Llewellyn N. and Gertrude E. (Rodarmel) Rothermel, she was a 1938 graduate of Lebanon High School. In the early 1940’s Marian worked for Lebanon Gas Co. Following her marriage in 1946, she was a proud homemaker. Mrs. Tice enjoyed volunteering with her children’s school classroom and scouting activities. She was a member of Faith UCC, the former Bethany UCC, and Optimist Intl. Mrs. Tice is survived by a son, Paul F. and wife Alice J. Tice of Thomasville; a daughter, Barbara J. Kindig of York; seven grandchildren, Michael and wife Holly Tice, James and wife Jill Tice, Melinda and Joanna Tice, Brian Kindig, Stacey and husband William Urey, Nicole and husband Andrew Reed; and six great grandchildren, Samuel and Norah Kindig, Payton and Parker Urey, Cody Tice, and Abigail Reed. She was preceded in death by a daughter and son in law, Kathryn L. and Neal Fetter; two sisters, Ann Klick and Catherine Cooney; and three brothers James, Francis, and John Rothermel.
