Margaret J. (Jenkins) Wiley

YORK – Margaret J. (Jenkins) Wiley passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at her home with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Lester L. Wiley.

A Celebration of Margaret’s life will be held 10:00 AM on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Chaplain Don Alspaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Prior to the service there will be a viewing from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM.

Margaret was born May 9, 1928 in Newland, VA and was 4th child of the late Thomas R. and Frances B. (Sanders) Jenkins. After High School, Margaret moved to the DC area and worked for People’s Drug Store. July 29, 1950 Margaret married Lester L Wiley who served in the US Navy for 23 years. Upon his retirement they relocated to PA where she worked for Lincoln Intermediate Unit # 12 as a Teacher’s Assistant. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 0791. In her free time, she loved nothing more than surrounding herself with her family.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Brenda L. Hess and her husband James; three grandchildren, Shawn Seifert and his significant other Margaret Lockner, Damien M. Hess and his wife Storey, and Derrick M. Hess and his wife Andrea; two great grandchildren, Reed Seifert, and Alexander Hess; two great great grandchildren, Jalen and Diana Grace; and a sister, Erma Mae Hysell.

In addition to her husband, Margaret is preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia A. Wiley; and seven siblings, Louise E. Darnell, John Percy Jenkins, Elsie M Hanger, Myrtle Ruth Behl, James Evertte Jenkins, Thomas Allen Jenkins, and Verna Lee Bateman.
