Margaret R. Thomas, 87, formerly of S. Landon Avenue, Kingston, and Lee Park Towers, Hanover Twp., died Friday December 14, in Windham Memorial Hospital, Willimantic, CT. Born in Edwardsville on June 23, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Gordon S. and Elizabeth (Richards) Pugh. She was a graduate of Kingston High School and Luzerene County Community College. Peggy was the first administrative secretary at Wesley Village, Jenkins Township where she was employed for 12 years. She was a life member of Eastern Star where she was a past worthy matron, and she was an active member of Forty-Fort Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip L. Thomas; brother, William Pugh; and sisters, Mary E Pugh and Louise Pugh. She will be greatly missed by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Carmen, of Willimantic, CT; daughter, Mary Lee Harkins, Edwardsville, grandchildren, Justin E. Brewster, Sr, Kaitlin Johnson, and James Brewster; step-grandchildren, Jose Rodriguez, and Mariela Barbecho; great grandchildren, Justin E. Brewster, Jr. and Cain Brewster; and several nieces. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, with Reverend William Lukesh officiating. Interment will be in Mt.
