Margaret A. Polt

Margaret Aline (Middaugh) Polt, 91, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Rest Haven in York. She was the loving wife of the late Robert William Polt.

Born March 12, 1935, in Honesdale, she was a daughter of the late Earl B. and Gladys A. (Boyd) Middaugh. During her career she work as a seamstress. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, decorating, specifically interior design and quilting. Whenever a new baby was born in the family, Mrs. Polt would always make them a quilt. She was an avid fan of Elvis and loved baseball, old cars, and dogs, specifically German Shepards.

Margaret is survived by her two daughters, Samantha O’Heren and husband Kevin of York and Susan Conte and her husband John of Olyphant, PA; seven grandchildren, Megan Knox, Matthew O’Heren, Sara Hreha, Bryan Wojcak, Christopher Wojcak, Emerald Goerlitz, and William Goerlitz III; 10 great grandchildren; a brother George Middaugh; and three sisters, Anne Ericsson, Diana Rankin, and Joan Heller. She was preceded in death by her daughter Anne Marie McPherson, son William Goerlitz, and a brother Alexander Boyd.
