YORK – Margaret M. (Herman) Sigel, 96, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 at Manor Care North. She was the wife of the late Albert E. Sigel. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Faith United Church of Christ, 509 Pacific Avenue, York with her pastor, The Rev. Dr. Ron Oelrich officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM Thursday at the Church. Private burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born June 4, 1918 in York, a daughter of the late Nevin H. and Irene R. (Starner) Herman, she had worked as a seamstress at the former Rentex Corp. Mrs. Sigel also was very active at the former Bethany United Church of Christ where she worked as the Church Sexton, sung in choir, volunteered in the nursery, and served on Women’s Guild. In addition to her membership at Faith UCC, Margaret was a member of White Rose Doll Collectors and enjoyed hand sewing. Mrs. Sigel is survived by three daughters, Billie F. Davis and husband Earl Davis, Jr. of Abbottstown, Sharon A. and husband Gerald Dunlap of York, and Peggy S. Weigard of Dover; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; a sister, Beverly and husband John Dubbs of York; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Mark Allen Yarnell and Robert Herman; a great grandson, Logan Davis; two brothers, Nevin Herman, Jr. and Robert Herman; and a sister, Janet Lehr.
