Mabel M. Rittenhouse

Mabel M. (Runkle) Rittenhouse, 90, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at Rest Haven – York. She was the wife of Harold J. Rittenhouse.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00PM, Sunday, October 25, 2026 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Jeffery A. Slemp Jr. A Viewing will be held from 1:00 – 2:00PM, Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Cross Roads Cemetery – Felton.

Born October 22, 1935 in Felton, she was the daughter of the late Allen Runkle and Beulah (Sentz) Leffler.

She was employed as a stock clerk with JC Penny for 20 plus years until her retirement.

Mrs. Rittenhouse is survived by one son, Gary L. Rittenhouse and his wife, Mary Ann; six grandchildren, David, Lee Ann, Jamie, Elizabeth, Andrew and Michael; three step grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, two great-great grandchild, one brother, Vernon Runkle; one step sister, Jessie Fishel and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Randy L. Rittenhouse and her brother, Kenneth Runkle.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cross Roads United Methodist Church, 6881 Church Rd, Cross Roads, Pa 17322.
