Lorna Marcia Patricia (Miller) Edwards

YORK- Lorna Marcia Patricia (Miller) Edwards, 76, died on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at her residence. She was the wife of Rueben Isiah Edwards.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at St. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Mission, 129 S. Beaver St., York. A viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Holy Savior Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed around 10 a.m. at HeffnerCare.com on Lorna’s obituary page. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements.

Born on November 14, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Violet Louise (Miller) Nation. Lorna was a City Planner for the City of New York for over 40 years until her retirement in 2012.

Lorna was a devout catholic who was a member of St. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Mission. She was an avid sports fan and especially loved the New York Yankees. She was outspoken, opinionated and had a deep love for her younger grandchildren and cousins.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her son, Luke Edwards and his wife, AnnMarie of York; two grandchildren, Owen Edwards and Olivia Edwards; sister, Carol Wilson and her husband, Stafford of East Orange, NJ; niece, Simone Wilson of East Orange, NJ; cousins, Marlene Gray of Johns Island, SC and Mark Graham, his wife, Maria and their children, Vanessa, Sebastian and Darian; and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leslie Nation and Lincoln Nation.
