Loretta E. (Shirey) Valet

YORK- Loretta E. (Shirey) Valet, 87, formerly of Red Lion died Friday, October 19, 2012 at The Haven at Springwood in York. She was the wife of the late Paul C. Valet. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a viewing from 9-10 a.m. The Reverend Jay M. Derk will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery in York. Mrs. Valet was born in Shrewsbury on October 15, 1925, daughter of the late Paul and Myrtle (Waltersmeyer) Shirey. She worked for York Telephone and Royal Tile and St. Paul Insurance both of Philadelphia. Mrs. Valet was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in York. She was an avid shopper and especially enjoyed shopping with her sister Jeanne. Mrs. Valet leaves a brother-in-law, Leonard Tarman of York and was preceded in death by her sister, Jeanne Tarman.
