DALLASTOWN – Lois Elaine (Bacon) Taylor, also known as "Lolly" 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at her home. She was the wife of the late Charles E. “Jack” Taylor with whom she shared 66 years of marriage until his passing on May 5, 1995.


A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 3, 2023 at Family of God Community Church, 147 First Avenue, Red Lion with Pastor Howard Edmondson officiating. Viewings will be held from 6-8:00 PM Sunday at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and from 10-11:00 AM Monday at the Church. She will be laid to rest at Blymire’s UCC Cemetery.


Born March 15, 1931 in Chanceford Twp., a daughter of the late Wilson C. and Carrie R. (Taylor) Bacon. She retired from Blymire’s Dental office in Dallastown after her 42-year career and working with all three generations of the Blymire family dentists. Never one to sit idle, Lois along with her friend Nancy Brenner enjoyed helping friends and family decorate. They called themselves "Lolly B's Decorating Service." Lois served as a judge on the York County Board of Elections. During her retirement she enjoyed working for Deanie Kings Personal Care Service as a caregiver for the last 20+ years of her life.


As everyone knew, Lois was a very active, spunky, fun loving lady who always put others first. She enjoyed cooking and cleaning; playing board games; farming and gardening; playing the piano, organ, and accordion. In her younger years, she played on a local girls softball team. She attended church regularly and presently attended Family of God Community Church. Above all, her faith, family, and friends were the most important things in her life.


Lois is survived by three sons, Phil L. and wife Jean Bacon of Dallastown, Scott E. and wife Jennifer Taylor of Felton, and Charles B. “Chuck” and wife Teresa Taylor of Red Lion; four grandchildren, Heather and husband Ian Dunbar, Leah Taylor-Osborn and husband Luke Osborn, Melissa Stitely and Charles Steven Taylor; four great grandchildren, Trayvon Taylor, Jack Dunbar, Cooper Platts, and Arianna Zink; a brother, David and wife Carolyn Bacon of Dallastown; a sister, Ada and husband Peter McManus of Maryland; and three sisters-in-law, Faye Taylor of Dallastown, Bertha Holloway of New Freedom, and Mary Young of Texas. She was preceded in death by a brother, Vernard “Nard” Bacon; and a sister, Nelda Warner.
