Lloyd W. Greenwood

YORK- Lloyd W. Greenwood, 75, died on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at UPMC Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Suzanne L. (Frigm) Greenwood, who died on September 28, 2012. The couple wed on May 17, 1970.

A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with the Reverend Cristopher Frigm officiating. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 10-11 a.m. Friday, both at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday by the Zeredatha Lodge #451. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.

Born on May 16, 1950 in York, he was the son of the late Lloyd W. Greenwood, Sr. and the late Dolores (Henry) Babner. Lloyd worked for Johnson Controls, formerly Borg-Warner and York International as a machinist until his retirement.

Mr. Greenwood served our country for one year and seven months in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War receiving the bronze star with combat V. Lloyd was a member of the West York VFW Post 8951 & Auxiliary where he was a legacy life member and quartermaster. He was also a member of the Zeredatha Lodge #451.

Lloyd is survived by his daughter, Nikkole A. Schmiedel and her husband, Marc of Etters; grandson, Alexander Schmiedel; brother, Charlie Babner; and sister, Judy Richards and her husband, Ed. He was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Babner; and two sisters, Mikey Shirey and Susan Cutler.
