Lessley Decker Wiles

Lessley Decker Wiles, 87, passed away on September 27, 2026 at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late William W. (Bill) Wiles to whom she was married for 61 years.

A viewing will be held from 9:00-10:00 AM on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. A celebration of life graveside service will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery with Pastor Suzanne Personette officiating. The graveside service will be live streamed around 10:15 AM at HeffnerCare.com.

Born April 19, 1939 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Irma E. (Gregory) Decker. She was a 1954 graduate of Warren High School. After high school she attended the University of Kentucky where she received her bachelor’s degree. Lessley and Bill were married on August 20, 1961 in Owensboro, Kentucky, and for the next 38 years celebrated the Kentucky Derby with a party for friends, neighbors and other business and long-time associates.

During her career, she received many awards. She was listed in Who’s Who in America and was a 30 plus-year active member of Civitans, an international civic organization. She was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels for over 60 years, a member of Eastminister Presbyterian Church, a lifelong member of Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity and the University of Kentucky Alumni Association and a former member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She was also a part of the P.I.N.K organization for breast cancer survivors.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth W. Wiles and his wife, Debbie of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren, Cameron W. Wiles and Lauren M. Wiles. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janice L. Nimmer.
