Larry W. Love, 80, of York Haven, passed away Monday, August 17, 2026 at Wellspan Newberry Hospital. He was the husband of Brenda R. (Bowers) Love with whom he celebrated 59 years of marriage on July 1, 2026.
A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Paddletown St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 355 Church Road, Etters with his Pastor Nick McMichael officiating. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM Tuesday at the Church. Burial will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville with full military rites provided by the United States Air Force. Beaver Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 W. Mr. Love was born on November 17, 1945 in Brawley, California, a son of the late H. Wayne and Ima A. (Shuptrine) Love. Following high school, Larry enlisted in the US Air Force in 1962. He served with the 1810 Support Squadron at Amarillo Air Force Base in Texas. Larry served stateside as well as a majority of his time overseas. During his service he earned the following awards: Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal. He received his Honorable Discharge in 1966 as an Airman Second Class.
Following his military service, Larry worked as a mechanic and truck driver for many years. He retired from Hempt Brothers, Inc. Larry was an active member of Paddletown St. Paul’s UMC where he served on Church Council and numerous committees. He loved to golf and was a member of the Valley Green Golf Senior League. Larry also enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a member of the American Legion.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Love is survived by a son, Roger W. and wife Melanie Love of Etters; a daughter, Deborah S. and husband William Shipman of Hamburg, PA; three grandchildren, Erica R. and husband Edward Arnold, III, Casey and wife Janae Shipman, and Rebecca D. Love; a great grandson, Bennett Arnold, along with a great granddaughter Shipman to be born next month; two brothers, Jimmy Love of Lakeside, Oregon and Steven Love of McCormick, South Carolina; and a sister, Dawna Love of McCormick, SC. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale E. Love.
