Larry L. Farrell

YORK – Larry L. Farrell, 77, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the husband of Carol A. (Brachtenbach) Farrell to whom he was married for over 52 years.

Born February 4, 1948 in Lexington, Nebraska, he was a son of the late Matthew B. and Emerald M. (Lund) Farrell. Mr. Farrell proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he faced ailments in combat and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice. He dedicated his working life to working as plant manager at Leprino Foods, where he was employed for over 30 years before retiring. Outside of his military service and hard work, Larry was an avid golfer and Nebraska football fan. Most of all, he adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

In addition to his beloved wife, Carol, he is survived by three children, Julie A. Farrell of Westfield, NJ, Jerry A. Farrell and his wife Shannon of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, and Jeffrey A. Farrell and his wife, Kristen of York; six grandchildren, Megan Bahara and her husband Christian, Matthew and his fiancée Ashley, Michaela, Connor, Callie, and Caroline Farrell.

He is also survived by his brother, Alan Farrell, and his sister, Janet Johnson, as well as a large and loving extended family, including several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews who fondly remember him as a loving and caring uncle. He is preceded in death by his brother, Kent Farrell.

Beyond his family, he leaves behind a close-knit circle of dear friends who were like family to him throughout his life.

In accordance with Mr. Farrell’s wishes, funeral services will be private. He will be laid to rest at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Nebraska at a later date. Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., Red Lion, is assisting the family with arrangements.
