York- Kenneth E. Gohn, 93, of West Manchester Twp., passed away at York Hospital on Friday, September 26, 2025. He was the husband of Norma J. (Fitzkee) Gohn with whom he celebrated 72 years of marriage on May 2, 2025.
Kenneth was born on November 15, 1931 in York, PA; the son of the late Stewart A. Gohn and Lillie May (Hoffman) Gohn. He served in U.S. Army during the Korean War. Until his retirement in 1987, he worked for Caterpillar where he was employed for 35 years. Kenneth formerly attended Living Word Community Church.
He was not only a lifelong fan of baseball but a talented player as well. In 1952, Kenneth pitched 33 games with the Danville Dans in the Mississippi-Ohio Valley League, with 22 wins, 5 loses, and an ERA of 1.58. While raising a family in York, he pitched in the county leagues and was inducted into the York Central League Hall of Fame in 1995. Kenneth was also involved with the Old Timers Baseball Club of York. Along with baseball, he enjoyed bowling, participating in the senior Olympics, and was a member of the Shiloh American Legion Post #791.
In addition to his wife Norma, Kenneth is survived by his daughter Lonna S. Howard (Darvin) of York; six grandchildren, Brahn Howard (Rebecca), Erica Woodson (Scott), Micah Howard (Tiffany), Kelci Fauser (Michael), Heather Jansen (Rob), and Rebecca Vinson (Andy); 15 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Rick A. Gohn as well as numerous brothers and sisters
A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Rose Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Full military honors will be provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating the service will be the Reverend Stephen Almquist. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of arrangements.
