Kathryn A. "Kathy" Mahaffey

Kathryn Ann "Kathy" (Way) Mahaffey, 63, of York passed away at her residence on Monday, December 22, 2025. She was the wife of Lewis R. Mahaffey to whom she was married for 11 years.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with Certified Celebrant Amy Favorito officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 AM to 11:30AM.

Mrs. Mahaffey was born on December 3, 1962 in Lancaster, PA, a daughter of Patsy (Rafferty) Way of Marietta and the late Charles “Chirp” Way, Sr. Kathy worked for many years as a factory worker and assembler at RR Donley and Fenner, later retiring from Armstrong World Industries. She was a member of the Elstonville Sportsman Club. Kathy loved to craft, garden, cook and refinish furniture in her spare time.

Along with her husband Mrs. Mahaffey is survived by two sons, Christopher Keith Tyson and wife Jessica, and Joshua Keith Tyson; her brother Charles “Chirp” Way, Jr. and wife Penny; and her two sisters, Wanda Long and husband Bob, and Sharon White and husband Bob; four grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her daughter Alexis Faith Lowe.
