Kathleen Ruvolis Knisely

YORK- Kathleen Ruvolis Knisely, 66, passed away Monday, October 05, 2015, at York Hospital. She was the wife of Roger A. Knisely to whom she was married 22 years. A Gathering of Friends will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. A visitation will be held from 1:30-2 PM prior to the sharing of memories. Inurnment will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born August 5, 1949 in Payette, Idaho, Kathleen was a daughter of Leo and Margaret (Griggs) Ruvolis. She worked for 25 years as a case worker for the Department of Human Services in York until her retirement in 2005. After her retirement, Kathleen took up the harp as a hobby. She was a very social person and loved her friends and family. In addition to her husband and parents, Kathleen is survived by a daughter, Amber L. Toomey of York; three step children, Heather Mundis of Dallastown, Allison Freeland and her husband Vincent of Hellam, and Melany McMullin and her husband Scott of Manchester; two grandchildren, Jovan Bones, and Johara Toomey; five step-grandchildren, Megan, Blake, Larissa, Anthony and Matthew; a sister, Cheryl O’Brien and her husband Mike of Dover, and a nephew, Clarence Driver. Kathleen was preceded in death by a twin sister, Katherine J. Ruvolis. Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406.
