Karin M. (Chernewski) Wilson-Woods, 78, of York, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Saturday, April 4, 2026
Karin Wilson-Woods was born on June 20, 1947, in Wiesbaden, Germany, to the late John Guzanich and Marianne E. (Ehm) Chernewski. In 1955, after Marianne met and married Paul Chernewski an American soldier, the family relocated to York Pennsylvania.
Following her graduation from high school, Karin held a variety of positions throughout York, she was a manager at West York Walmart for many years, and most recently working as a cage cashier at Hollywood Casino at the York Galleria Mall.
She was a devoted member of the United Federation of Doll Clubs and was an avid collector of Barbies, antique dolls, and porcelain dolls. Karin also found joy in black and white movies and had a special fondness for elephants.
Karin was so proud of her family and given the chance, she would show you pictures and tell you stories of each one. Karin would have helped anyone anywhere at any time.
Ms. Wilson-Woods is survived by a son, James and wife Jessica Wilson of Mt. Wolf; three grandchildren, Alissa, Logan and Dexter Wilson; her cat, Jazzy; and many amazing friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in her honor, to give everyone a chance to heal and find the joy of having had her in our lives.
Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is honored to serve the family.
