Karen L. McCarthy

Karen Lee (Ritenour) McCarthy, 75, of York, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026 at her residence in Manchester Township.

Born August 16, 1950 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Joan (Davidson) Ritenour.

She was employed as an administrative assistant.

She was a loving mother and grandmother whose greatest joy came from spending time with those she cherished most, including her beloved cat, Boo, who brought her so much happiness. She found peace and contentment by the ocean, loving both the beach and cruising. And she never missed an opportunity to go shopping, particularly loving the clothes and jewelry trips.

Mrs. McCarthy is survived by one daughter, Kelly N. Grimm and her husband, Marty of York; five grandchildren, Joey, Emma, Ace, Michaela and Jordyn; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Kathleen Smith and her husband, Sidney of Sykesville, MD and nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SPCA – York, 3159 N. Susquehanna Trial, York, Pa 17406.

A Celebration of Life of Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, is honored to serve the family.
