Juergen T. Wahl

Juergen T. Wahl, 67, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at UPMC Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Sonja R. (Vongehr) Wahl, with whom he celebrated 42 years of marriage on February 4.

Mr. Wahl was born on April 2, 1959 in Gruenstadt, Germany, a son of the late Hans and Brigitte (Dal Mas) Wahl. After completing Hauptschule Dirmstein at 14 years old, Juergen went on to apprentice with KBA North America, beginning a 53-year career with the company. Throughout his working life, he traveled extensively for KBA and remained dedicated to the company until his retirement in April.

Outside of work, Mr. Wahl enjoyed golfing and traveling. He visited 49 of the 50 states, as well as destinations including South Africa and Japan, among many others. Above all, he was a devoted family man who cherished his family and especially his sons.

In addition to his wife, Sonja, Juergen is survived by two sons, Thomas G. and wife Karen Wahl of Porter, Texas, and Michael C. and wife Julia Wahl of Edmonton, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Abel and Mallory Wahl; three brothers, Joachim, Klaus, and Rudiger Wahl of Germany; a sister, Petra Skalnik of Germany; and two beloved black labs, Fred and Daphne.

Services for Mr. Wahl will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, is honored to serve the family.
