Juanita L. Briddell

Juanita L. (Hoover) Briddell, 75, of York, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at York North Nursing and Rehab Center. Born March 11, 1950 in Lykens, PA; she was the cherished daughter of the late Samuel and Mildred (Coles) Hoover.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. A viewing will be held from 9-10:00 AM Thursday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at 1:30 PM Thursday at Calvary United Methodist Cemetery, 519 Pottsville Street, Wiconisco, PA.

Juanita's early years were marked by a spirit of dedication and enthusiasm. A proud graduate of William Penn Senior High School in 1968, she distinguished herself on the honor roll and as a majorette and flag twirler, showcasing her vibrant personality and commitment to her school's spirit. For over two decades, Juanita dedicated her professional life to the Dallastown Area High School, where she served as the Secretary to the Principal. Her role was crucial in supporting the school's operations, and her kindness and approachability made her a beloved figure among students and staff alike. In addition to her administrative duties, she was also the Varsity Cheerleading Coach, guiding and inspiring young cheerleaders to reach their potential.

Juanita enjoyed a variety of outdoor adventures, treasuring moments spent ice skating and swimming. She particularly loved the time spent at the beaches of Fenwick Island, Delaware, where she relished the beauty of nature and the joy of relaxation.

Mrs. Briddell is survived by two sons, Todd E. and wife Sherry Rutledge of York and Brent R. and wife Kelly Rutledge of Dover; and seven grandchildren, Cole and wife Rachel Rutledge, Caleigh and husband Dalton Stone, Evan Rutledge, Addison Rutledge, Grant and wife Shyann Rutledge, Brady Rutledge, and Liberty Lucia.
