John G. Smith

YORK- John G. Smith, 74, of York died peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Yorkview Nursing & Rehabilitation.

John was born on March 1, 1950 in Gettysburg, the son of the late John B. and Anna (Miller) Smith. He was a 1968 graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy and attended Elizabethtown University.

Mr. Smith is survived by his brother, Jerry Smith and his wife, Barb of York. John was the co-owner of Smith’s Market in York Springs and was employed by Jerry’s Great Value in Red Lion.

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
