John Philip Trone

John P. Trone, 39, of Stanley, Idaho (formerly of Moscow, ID and York), died tragically on December 23, 2009 as a result of injuries sustained in an accident on the Diamond D Ranch. Born in York on March 19, 1970, John was the son of William R. Trone of Pierce, Idaho (formerly York) and of Brenda K. (Sohnleitner) Trone of York. He was a devoted husband to his wife of eight years, Ronda (Goebel) Trone of Boise, ID (formerly Moscow, ID), and was never far from his loyal companion, Reggin. He will also be dearly missed by his sister Kelly Trone and her son Thadius of Charlotte, NC; his sister Carole Trone and her husband, William E. Doyle, Jr., of College Park, MD, and their children, Jillian and Colin Doyle; his mother and father-in-law, Karen and Fred Goebel, Clarkston, WA and brother-in-law Vaughn Goebel, St. Augustine, FL; aunts; and a cousin. John was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Mary and Philip Trone of York; maternal grandparents, Mary E. Sohnleitner and J. Russell Sohnleitner of York;an aunt; an uncle; and a cousin. John attended York Catholic High School for three years before graduating from York Suburban High School in 1988. He was an avid outdoorsman who moved from the York area to enjoy all the Idaho wilderness has to offer. He studied Forestry and Wildlife Resources at the University of Idaho, and completed Professional Hunting Guide School at the Shattuck Creek Ranch and Outfitters during the 1990's. John was employed as a licensed guide for three years each at Shattuck Creek, Pistol Creek Outfitters, and Mackay Bar. He worked as a Quality Assurance Technician for Schweitzer Engineering Labs in Pullman, Washington, from 2000-2007, but always longed to return to guiding. At the time of his death, he had been employed as a guide/winter-time caretaker at the Diamond D Ranch for two years. A Celebration of Life Service for John will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with the Reverend William M. Cawley officiating. A visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Concluding the service, the family invites everyone to a reception at Chestnut Ridge, 3200 East Prospect Rd., York.
