John Lawrence Shaker" Brown

WILLIAMSPORT - John Lawrence "Shaker" Brown, 60, died on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at his residence. John was born in Williamsport on June 8, 1948 and was a son of the late James H. and Lucy (Luther) Brown, Sr. He was a graduate of the Williamsport High School and was a truck driver for Zeitner & Sons, Inc., formerly known as "Mainliner", based in Omaha, Nebraska. He had attended Ebenezer Baptist Church as a child and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. John is survived by one daughter; Catherine M. Brown of Plymouth, two grandchildren; Laura Brown and Christopher Brown, both from Plymouth, one brother; James H. Brown, Jr. of Milwaukee, WI and one sister and brother-in-law; Sarah N. and Paul Corson of Avis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son; John L. Brown, Jr. There will be a gathering of friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport, with a Memorial Service beginning at 7 p.m. Burial will private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susquehanna Home Care & Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
