Joann A. Kern

Joann A. Kern (née Myers), 79, passed away on August 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born December 5, 1946, Joann was the daughter of the late Norman and Josephine (Glatfelter) Myers. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Norman Myers II.

Joann is survived by her loving husband, Larry Kern; her two sons, Todd Kern and Eric Kern; her daughter-in-law, Georgia Kern; her four grandsons, Garrett, Drew, Corey, and Trevor; and her great-grandchildren, Sloane and Elliott, all of whom brought tremendous joy to her life.

Joann was the heart of her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and the best Nana anyone could ask for. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a generous spirit, a quick wit, and a way of making every holiday, family gathering, and everyday moment feel special.

Together with her husband, Larry, Joann built Kern Mechanical and helped run its operations for 47 years. Their hard work, dedication, and care for the people they served became the foundation of a family business that continues today.

Joann will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known and loved her. Her memory will live on through the family she cherished, the business she helped build, and the countless lives she touched throughout her 79 years.

A Celebration of Life honoring Joann will be announced at a later date. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is honored to serve the family.
