MILL HALL - Joan C. (Long) Coffman, 77, a former resident of Salona passed away, Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Manor Care Jersey Shore where she resided since 2007. She was born January 6, 1935 in Lock Haven a daughter of the late Harry & Dorothy (Walker) Long. Joan was married 46 years to Lindy M. Coffman who died in 2000. She worked for Bobbie Brooks in Lock Haven as an inspector. She was a member of Lifetree Church Jersey Shore and was a prior member of the Lock Haven Assembly of God where she was very active in the Missionette’s Program. In 1982 she received the Esther Award. Joan enjoyed decorating cakes and loved to do needlepoint on plastic canvas. She was a 1954 graduate of Mill Hall High School. Surviving are two sons Rev. Franklin E. (Jana) Coffman of Elizabethtown and Joseph W. (Chris) Coffman of Jersey Shore. Three grandchildren Deborah, Elisabeth and Matthew also three great-grandchildren Angela Shawn and Austin. A twin Sister Jean (Lynn) Grieb of Mill Hall. A sister Margaret “Peg” Gunsallus and a grandson Samuel E. Coffman preceded her in death. The funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M., Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with the Rev. Dean Olson officiating. Friends and relatives will be received at one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will provide the flowers. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Lifetree Church, 404 Wilson St., Jersey Shore, PA 17740.
