Jimmy A. Eckenrode

Jimmy A. Eckenrode, 66, of York, passed away following a brief illness on March 19, 2026 at his home.

Jimmy was born on July 21, 1959 in Carlisle, a son of Patricia Ann (Sutphin) and Larry Goodyear of York and the late Robert E. Eckenrode. He was a 1977 graduate of Northeastern High School. Jimmy was a cook for much of his early working life before working at Consolidated Freightways for many years and more recently at H&H Castings, Inc. He was an avid sports fan, cheering on his beloved Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles and Flyers. A lifelong lover of music, Jimmy enjoyed playing guitar and amassed an impressive collection of vinyl albums and CD’s. Jimmy also enjoyed playing golf, playing Texas Hold’em poker, gardening, tending to his house plants and caring for his pets.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, Jimmy is survived by two brothers, Bryan E. Eckenrode and his wife Jill Frey and Travis W. Eckenrode and wife Amy Eckenrode of York; and his nephew, Ryan L. Eckenrode of Lancaster.
