Jean R. (Wherley) Doll

York—Jean R. (Wherley) Doll, 87, died Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Autumn House-East. She was the wife of the late Gordon L. Doll, who died August 7, 1993.

Following cremation a graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, November 16, 2009 at Prospect Hill Cemetery with her pastor, the Rev. W. Michael Langford, officiating. A funeral cortege will form at the Pennsylvania Ave entrance at 10:45 a.m. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc, 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, is in charge of arrangements.

Born August 11, 1922 in York, she was a daughter of the late Henry E. and Florence V. Wherley. She was a 1940 graduate of North York High School. Before her retirement in 1987, she was employed with I.S.S.C./Honeywell as an electronics assembler for 22 years.

Mrs. Doll was a life member of Messiah United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Doll is survived by her son Duane E. Doll and his wife, Mary Jo of North York; grandson, Eric Doll and his wife, Tara of Allendale, NJ; granddaughter, Amy (Doll) Smith and her husband, Bradley of Dover; four great grandchildren, Courtney and Jacob Smith and Charlotte and Christopher Doll; sister, Frances Schlosser and husband, Donald; brother, Richard Wherley and his wife, Joyce.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Messiah United Methodist Church, 1300 N. Beaver St, York, Pa 17404.
