Harrisburg—Janette P. (Gross) Lowery, 82, died Friday, November 9, 2007 at Harrisburg Hospital. She was the wife of the late Clifford W. "Tip" Lowery. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Beaver Urich Funeral Home, 305 W. Front St., Lewisberry, with the Rev. Paul Wilcox of Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church in Etters, officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Tri-County Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Lowery was born November 28, 1924 in Newberrytown, a daughter of the late Walter and Lillian M. (Taylor) Gross. She graduated from New Cumberland High School as part of the 1942 class. She was employed with the New Cumberland Federal Army Depot as a clerk for several years, until her retirement. A member of the Green Valley Farm Women's Association, she also attended Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church where she also enjoyed helping to make Easter eggs. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and loved flowers. She was a former member of Paddletown-St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Etters. Mrs. Lowery is survived by three sons, Forrest E. "Tim" Lowery of Halifax, Terry L. Lowery of Lake Meade and Keith A. Lowery of Middletown, four daughters, Judy A. Slaseman, Candice M. Conley and Michelle M. White all of Etters and Kimberly M. Lowery of New Cumberland, five grandchildren, Steven Lowery, Lauren Conley, Kristen Lowery and Nicholas and Kelly Slaseman, 3 great-grandchildren, one brother, Clair Gross of Newberrytown and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Shawn R. Lowery.
