YORK--Janet S. Trasatt, 83, of York, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25. She was the beloved wife of Ronald Trasatt. The couple celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 20, 2024.
She was born in Pottsville, PA on January 28, 1942, the daughter of the late Vincent P. and Jeanette Strauss.
Her greatest joy was in the role she held most dear, being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Janet showered unrelenting love on her children and grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress who took pride in making clothes, home decor, and gifts. When cooking, you’d probably find her making a favorite sweet treat. She also enjoyed traveling, especially the many cruises she shared with her husband. She found joy in shopping, not just for herself, but often picking out special gifts for her loved ones. And whenever the opportunity arose, she loved to dance, especially with Ron. Her joy and energy would light up the room.
In addition to her loving husband, Ron, Janet is survived by; her son, Terrence Trasatt, and daughter-in-law, Peggy Kling, York; her daughter, Tina Steele, and her husband, Brad, Fairfield, CT; her grandchildren, Natalie and Andrew, whom she adored; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three siblings, Dolores Soellner and Marsha Grace, Pottsville, and Joe Strauss, Wyomissing, PA. Janet was preceded in death by her brother, Vincent W. Strauss.
A private funeral and interment will be held in accordance with her wishes. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements.
“For those who love with heart and soul, there is no such thing as separation.” -Rumi
