James K. Mull, Jr.

SPRING GROVE — James K. Mull, Jr., 79, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at his daughter’s residence. He was the husband of the late Karen D. (Baublitz) Mull, who passed away on July 20, 2017. The couple wed on October 17, 1972.

Born on June 24, 1947, in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late James K. Mull, Sr. and Shirley (Ramsdell) Mull. Jim worked as a maintainer for Amtrak for more than 30 years until his retirement.

Mr. Mull proudly served his country in the United States Army for more than two years during the Vietnam War as a member of the 101st Airborne Division, the “Screaming Eagles.”

Jim was an avid football fan, cheering for both the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed collecting vinyl records, especially classic rock, as well as baseball cards. He also enjoyed gardening and treasured weekend trips to the beach with his wife, Karen.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Nichole Knisley and her husband, Brandon, of Spring Grove; two sons, Trevor Mull and Brandon Mull; five grandchildren, Logan McHenry, Delainy McHenry, Tyler Mull, Connor Mull and Hannah Mull; his brother, Wayne Mull; and his sister, Joyce Warren.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, with Certified Celebrant Amy Favorito officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard at the start of the service. A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Entombment will be private at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
