James G. Alston, Sr.

DOVER- James G. Alston, Sr., 59, died on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Born on September 27, 1966 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late James Alston and Joanna (Faulisi) McNally. James was the executive head chef at ASK Foods in Palmyra for 26 years which he absolutely loved.

James enjoyed hosting his family and friends and loved to cook. He was tough to get along with at first but an easy person to love.

James is survived by three sons, James Alston, Jr. and his wife, Shannon of East Berlin, Justin Alston and his wife, Dana of York and Dominic Witherson of Dover; four grandchildren, Natalie, Alister, Kyler and Landon; sister, Luann Thomas of Naples, FL; and cousin, Cathy Gibert and her husband, B.J. of Pittsburgh.

Services for Mr. Alston are private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is honored to serve the family.
