Horace J. Morthland

YORK- Horace J. Morthland, 85, died on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Colonial Manor. He was the husband of the late Shirley L. (Murdoch) Morthland, who died on December 19, 1997. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Certified Celebrant Jessica R. Smith officiating. A viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born on March 8, 1932 in York, he was a son of the late Daniel W. and Lottie C. (Lichinger) Morthland. Horace worked maintenance at Pleasant Acres until his retirement. Mr. Morthland served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Morthland is survived by his daughter, Alice Crimmins and husband, Tim of Spring Grove; two grandsons Daniel Morthland and wife, Carrie of Panama City, FL and Timothy A. Crimmins, Jr. of Spring Grove; and his sister, Bernice Miller of Shrewsbury.
