Herman L. "Bonehead" Smith

DOVER - Herman L. "Bonehead" Smith, 74, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. He was the loving husband of Margaret E. (Lucas) Smith.

A Celebration of Bonehead's Life will be held 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 1551 Kenneth Road, York, PA 17408 with Pastor Jim Quoss officiating. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM. 

Born June 14, 1951 in Allentown, Herman was a son of the late Roy and Madison (Hildabrant) Smith. Herman worked for Duie Pyle for many years and later retired there. He was a devoted member of Freedom Biker Church. In his free time, Herman could be found hunting or admiring his guns, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, or admiring cars. Above all else, Herman cherished time spent with his family. 

In addition to his wife, Herman is survived by two children, Megan Tarr, and Russell Tarr; three grandchildren, Monroe Tarr, Lydia Tarr, and Lexi Tarr; two nephews, Mike Wagner, and Jimmy Smith; and his life long good friend, Albert Thomas. In addition to his parents, Herman is preceded in death by a brother, Bob Smith; and a sister, Rose Wagner.
