Helen M. (Young) Gross

YORK- Helen M. (Young) Gross, 96, of York, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at York Lutheran Home at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late Charles Gross. A Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a visitation from 9:30-10:00a.m. Burial will be private in Manchester Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. Gross was born in New Chester, Adams County on November 18, 1910, a daughter of the late George and Rosie Ellen Young. Helen and her husband owned and operated Charlestone Motel in Strinestown. She was a member of the former St. Luke United Methodist Church in York. She enjoyed bowling in Weiglestown and was an avid gambler. Mrs. Gross leaves a step-daughter, Betty Humphred in Lemoyne, a step-grandson, nieces and nephews and two special friends and caregivers, Fawnette L. Reichley and Connie Cummings. She was preceded in death by a daughter Lois Gross.
