DOVER—Harry T. “Tom” Sease Jr., 79, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Hummelstown. He was the husband of Barbara J. (Costella) Sease to whom he was married for 55 years.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will be Certified Celebrant Amy Favorito. A viewing will be held from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
Born May 19, 1944 in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Harry T. Sease Sr., and Alta M. (Rickard) Sease.
He was employed as a Service Manager with Shipley Energy for 34 years and also volunteered with the York City Fire Department for 21 years, serving as Captain for numerous years until his retirement in 1990.
A United States Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War, he was also a member of Gettysburg American Legion, Gettysburg VFW, where he served on their honor guard detail and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles – Gettysburg. He served as secretary-treasurer for the Foremans, Presidents, and Fire Chiefs Association. An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed spending time at his cabin near the Michaux State Forest. He loved music, and you would often times find him at family gatherings playing his guitar and singing. However, what he cherished most of all was spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Sease is also survived by two daughters, Beth A. Hoffman and her husband, David of Kutztown and Holly M. Kimbrell and her husband, Bill of Dover; four grandchildren, Rhianna and Emily Eveland and Hunter and Vivian Kimbrell; former son-in-law, James Eveland and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Murtoff.
