Harry E. Stottlemyer, Jr., 80, of York, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Gardens of Gettysburg. He was the husband of Karen M. (Gluck) Stottlemyer with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage.
A private Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held for family and friends on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 1:30 PM at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Certified Celebrant Amy Favorito officiating. A flag folding ceremony will be provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. A viewing will be held from 12:30-1:30 PM Friday at the Funeral Chapel. Private burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Stottlemyer was born on August 12, 1945 in York, a son of the late Janice (Ilgenfritz) and Harry E. Stottlemyer, Sr. and was one of 12 children. Following his graduation from William Penn Senior High School, Harry joined the US Air Force during The Vietnam War. His active-duty Honorable service spanned from 1965-1969 where he served with the 408th Combat Support Squadron (Air Defense Command). He received the National Defense Service Medal (NDSM), Vietnam Service Medal (VSM), and Air Force Good Conduct Medal (AFGCM).
Harry then worked for Maple Press Company in bindery management and retired after 30 years of service. In his free time, he loved traveling with his wife and family.
In addition to his wife Karen, Harry is survived by his son, Jason and wife Melissa Stottlemyer of York; and two grandsons, Aaden and Aalek Stottlemyer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SPCA of York County or Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease.
