RED LION – Harry J. Vasellas, 70, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022 at his home. He was the husband of the late Jane E. Vasellas.
A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A viewing will be held from 9-11:00 AM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Red Lion Cemetery with a Flag Folding detail provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Come as you are, any attire welcome.
Born April 30, 1952 at home in Red Lion, a son of the late Harry S. and Carrie A. (Urey) Vasellas; he was a 1970 graduate of Red Lion Area High School. Mr. Vasellas worked in the trucking industry for over 40 years and retired from A. Duie Pyle Trucking after 17 years of service. Over his career, Harry was awarded numerous safe driving commendations and in 2013 earned the Million Mile Award for safe driving. He enjoyed collecting trucking memorabilia, helping others, and completing home improvement projects. Mr. Vasellas also served as a Board Member for Red Lion Cemetery Association. He was a US Army Veteran of The Vietnam War and also served with the PA Army National Guard.
Mr. Vasellas is survived by a daughter, Andrea M. and husband John McGlade, Sr. of Windsor; two grandchildren, John McGlade, Jr. and fiancée Rachel Casaceli and Carly McGlade; three brothers, Nicholas Vasellas and Woodrow Vasellas both of Felton, James Vasellas of Bedford, PA; and a sister, Agnes Roland of Mann’s Choice, PA. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Pat Dashler and Darlene Fitzkee; and three brothers, Sterling Vasellas, Ed Urey, and John Vasellas.
