HANOVER – Harold L. Warner, 91, formerly a longtime resident of Spring Grove, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at UPMC Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary Helen (Sutherland) Warner.
A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 11, 2024 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM Monday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Union Cemetery, Stoverstown.
Born September 6, 1933 in York, a son of the late Noah and Lulu (Stough) Warner, he was a 1951 graduate of Glenville High School; and attended Penn State University and later earned an Engineering degree. Mr. Warner retired as Plant Manager at the former York Borg-Warner in 1991 after 40 years of service. He loved tending to his gardens and orchard and his happy place in life was sitting on a tractor at his home or on his farm in Jefferson. Whenever he found some free time, he would enjoy a round of golf. Harold deeply loved his family and devoted his life to making theirs better.
Mr. Warner is survived by a daughter, Sandra L. and husband Michael Stern of Marlton, NJ; three grandchildren, Bert and wife Christine Stern, Sara and husband David Neal, and Reese and wife Courtney Stern; four great grandchildren, Caroline, Luke, and Lindsey Neal, and Levi Stern; and a brother, Dean Warner of York. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Gamler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
