Gwen C. Smith

Windsor—Gwen C. (Moses) Smith, 76, passed at her residence after a long illness Tuesday, November 29, 2022. She was the wife of Harvey L. Smith Jr., to whom she was married for 55 years.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00AM Monday, December 5, 2022 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Officiating the service will be her pastor, the Rev. Angela M. Nett. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00AM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.

Born August 25, 1946 in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late V.H. Moses and Doreen (McLean) Moses.

A loving and dedicated homemaker, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, baking and would spend days in her kitchen baking Christmas cookies which she passed out and delivered to numerous people and businesses in her area. She studied to become a teacher at West Chester University and Millersville University before leaving college to marry the love of her life. Gwen was also a long time and active member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Windsor.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Smith is also survived by her children, Melissa Smith and Doreen Bish and husband, Jack; grandchildren, Jacklynn Morgan and husband, Brian and Jack Bish II and wife, Maranda; great grandchildren, London Morgan, Wyatt Morgan, Liam Morgan and Atreus Bish; her sister, Nancy Hill and her long time and dearest friend, Jeanne Barron.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital-Philadelphia, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140 or March of Dimes, 1550 Crystal Dr., Suite 1300, Arlington, VA 22202.
