Gloria Jean Martz

YORK- Gloria Jean (Bricker) Martz, 79, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026 at York Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of William L. “Bill” Martz. The couple shared 42 years of marriage on September 24, 2025.

Born in York on November 2, 1946, Gloria was the daughter of the late Donald E. and Esther F. (Pilgrim) Bricker. She was a 1964 graduate of Central York High School and went on to receive her associates degree. During her career, she worked in sales and marketing for various phone companies including Bell of PA, Denver and Ephrata Telephone, and Red Rose Telephone. In her free time, she enjoyed the beach, bingo, playing cards and above all, shopping and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Bill, Gloria is survived by a daughter Angela Jean Sinclair and husband, Darren; a son Gary Straw; four grandchildren, Ashlie, Dustin, Allison, and Brandon; two great grandchildren, Reece and River; two sisters, Deborah L. Beaverson and husband, Martin, and Terri L. Rappold and husband, Paul; and two brothers, Ronald E. Bricker and wife, Cheri, and Donald R. Bricker and wife, Teresa.
