Glenn L. Ort

YORK – Glenn L. Ort, 87, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at his residence. He was the husband of Jean M. (Delp) Ort to whom he had been married for 66 years.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Friedensaal Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9138 White Church Road, Seven Valleys, with Rev. Doug DeStefano officiating the service. Visitation will be at the Church from 10:00-11:00 AM Wednesday. Burial will take place at the Church cemetery, followed by a reception. Full military honors will be performed by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is assisting the family with arrangements.

Glenn was born on March 30, 1938, the youngest son of the late Clarence W. and Irene B. (Laughman) Ort. After graduating from Spring Grove High School in 1956, he went on to serve in the United States Army. Glenn retired from UPS after 31 years of driving tractor trailer.

He was a member of Friedensaal Evangelical Lutheran Church and the American Legion. Glenn enjoyed riding horses and motorcycles, woodworking, and traveling, especially enjoying cruises with his wife.

In addition to his beloved wife Jean, he is survived by his son, Steven E. and wife Lisa Ort of Lititz; and a daughter, Donna J. and husband Tom Perry of York; six grandchildren, Amanda and husband TJ, Glenn “Mac” and wife Darcy, James, Anna and husband Dylan, Erin, and Eli; two step grandchildren, Megan and Dean; and six great-grandchildren, Connor, Henry, Benjamin, Grace, Peter, and Hazel. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Leo Basta; as well as his siblings, Harold Ort, Doretha Burger, and Kenneth Ort.
